In early March, Ellie decided she was going to finish out her volleyball career this year (finish club season and one more school season). She had planned on a summer of fun at camp and other things. When her club coach Morgan Anderson Tuggle asked if she would go to AAUs in late June, Ellie really did not want to go. She was pleased with her season and was looking forward to doing other things. But, Ellie knew that her team needed her as she would be the only setter on the team. Many of the girls on her team want to continue their careers in college and with COVID, their chance for recuriting had been cut short this year. AAU was a chance for them all to be seen by college coaches. Ellie decided that she would go and support her team.
AAUs is the largest volleyball tournament in the world. Teams from all over the world come to play. It's four days rather than the standard three, which can become grueling particularly when there is no sub for your position.
And Wow! Ellie played! She played every single point over four days. She had the most amazing run of her volleyball career and helped her team secure 3rd place and two of her team mates make the AAU All American team.
Her stats for the tournament were pretty awesome: Played 27 sets. 29 Aces, 22 Kills, 4 Blocks, 212 Assists and 84 Digs!
She was physically and emotionally exhausted when I took this picture. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry. To me it represents the six years of incredible dedication and work she has put into her craft. I could not be more proud of her!
Thank you to Morgan Anderson Tuggle and Jason Tuggle for believing in her as much as I do and for leading this awesome team. Thank you to all of our Country Fire Volleyball family for an incredible two years!

It’s amazing how this world works and we met. I remember scouting her and saying we need her to play for us. I for one will always appreciate the two years she put in and worked her tail off for Country Fire Volleyball and what a way to finish a career. Playing a 5-1 at a 4 day national tournament, the weight of the world on your shoulders to perform and to help stand up to the number one seed where we were the underdogs in the gold bracket and whoop one of the most prestigious clubs in the tournament to advance to where we were able to take home one of the biggest trophies in our clubs history. Well done Ellie. I know you will accomplish big things in your life. You are a driving force and it will be my pleasure to get to follow and see you do whatever you put your mind to in the future. -Coach Jason #proudcoach #countryfirevb #yesiwishihadonemoreyearwithyou
